Adaptive reused old surau pdrm towards community surau with friday prayer program.Design Thesis
The focused area situated at Jalan Pantai Baru (Pantai Murni) was selected to provide solutions to the problems of locals. The site was chosen because of its have multi-function building context and high density population. That makes the people in this area have interaction difficulty, gather and socialize among each others. According to the statistic, there are 80% muslim and 20% non muslim in this area. Adaptive reuse of the existing surau desa aman pdrm towards surau with Friday prayers program is a good solution to bring the community back towards religion and community activity.
SENTUL is a main town area in Kuala Lumpur whereby the railway line demarcates Sentul into two parts – Sentul East and West. Sentul, which lies just 3km north of the heart of Kuala Lumpur, is fast becoming a city of contrasts, with some of the nation’s poorest citizens living side by side with the very rich. (B.Nantha Kumar,2014) Jalan Sentul and Jalan Ipoh are the two major roads servicing this area. KTM Batu Caves – Port Klang Route Sentul Komuter Station, Ampang Line Sentul Timur LRT Station and Sentul LRT Station are situated in this area. (The Star, 2006) Sentul was previously a large squatter’s settlement occupied mainly by the Indian community. The project initiated by DBKL commenced in mid-1980s and was completed by end of 1980s (Unit Perancangan Ekonomi Ibu Kota (UPEIK), 1995)
Vertical Sentul.
Vertical sentul is the concept that will apply for this project,this concept will ehanced the office tower and originally people at sentul,such culture,activity, social and young generation at the same time give benefits to the development and surrounding. This concept also will consider of 4 items. 1.Consideration of local people 2.Suistanable technology and lifestyle 3.Urban Context to show respect to the land. 4.Tower Exclusiveness & young generation x&y
